WVU Youth Activities

Class: Morgantown Children's & Youth Choirs

DescriptionThe Morgantown Children's/Youth Choirs welcome all children to experience the enjoyment of music, through age-appropriate vocal training and the joy of performing. Sponsored by the WVU Community Music Program, membership is open to all children from about age 8-up. No previous choral experience is necessary. According to parents of child-members: “In every community there are organizations that lend strength, character and opportunity to its members. Our goal is to be one of those organizations by bringing music, culture, arts and pleasure to the region’s children and families.” Through a wide range of choral music, children in the choir experience other lands and languages all while learning about vocal technique, performing arts, and goal achievement through individual accomplishments and teamwork. Not to mention a huge amount of fun. Rehearsals are regularly held on Thursday evenings, beginning Thursday January 5th. Several exciting community performances are planned for the upcoming semester, including a National Anthem Sing and a Spring Choral program. Stop in for a visit on Thursday, Jan 5th, from 4:30-6:00pm, at the Creative Arts Center of WVU’s Evansdale Campus.
