Academic Camp: WVU School of Music/Community Music Program Recorder Week Festival

DescriptionThe WVU School of Music, in conjunction with the Community Music Program, announces its first ever Recorder Week Festival. Featuring world-renowned Recorder performers Duo Colibri (Daniele Cruz of Brazil and Laurence Pottier of France), the Week begins Sunday evening April 9th and runs through Thursday evening April 13th. Activities involve ensemble workshops, individual lessons, a lecture session on the historical aspects of the Recorder, all culminating in a recital of Recorder music ranging from French Baroque to Contemporary Brazilian genres. The events will take place at the Creative Arts Center and WVU Art Museum, with several of the activities free and open to the public. With Registration for the entire week of activities, a Certificate of Completion will be presented at the end of this course (which is geared toward high school age and older).
